Terms of Use
Version 1.0 | Last Updated: June 18, 2026
1. About Cherpa and who we are
These are the terms for using Cherpa. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Cherpa.
Cherpa is provided by Cherpa.AI Ltd (“Cherpa”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in Scotland, company number SC852497, registered office 6 Bainfield Drive, c/o Bright Red Triangle, Edinburgh EH11 1AR.
Questions about your data? Email us at hello@cherpa.ai.
2. Who can use Cherpa
To use Cherpa you must:
• be 18 or over,
• be a resident of the United Kingdom, and
• give us accurate information about yourself.
You are responsible for keeping your sign in details safe. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.
3. What Cherpa is, and what it is not
This is the most important part, so please read it carefully.
Cherpa gives you money information. It does not give regulated financial advice.
• Cherpa is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
• Cherpa does not recommend, arrange or sell any financial product.
• Cherpa does not tell you what you should do with your money. It gives you
information so you can make your own decisions.
• Cherpa is not a substitute for regulated financial advice, legal advice, tax advice or debt counselling. For those you should speak to a qualified professional.
If you need regulated financial advice, please consult an authorised adviser. You can check who is authorised on the FCA register.
4. AI generated answers
Cherpa uses artificial intelligence to understand your questions and write answers, drawing on verified, published sources.
AI can still make mistakes, misunderstand a question, or use information that has since changed. Cherpa’s answers are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete or up to date. Do not rely on Cherpa alone for any important decision. Always check the official source, such as GOV.UK, or speak to a qualified professional before you act.
5. Making your own decisions
The information Cherpa gives is general and may not fit your exact situation. Rules on benefits, tax, debt and pensions change, and eligibility depends on your personal circumstances.
You are responsible for the decisions you make. Before acting on anything Cherpa tells you, check it against the official source. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on Cherpa’s answers.
6. Using Cherpa properly
When you use Cherpa you agree that you will not:
• use it for anything unlawful, or to break any rule or regulation,
• give false information or pretend to be someone else,
• try to copy, scrape, reverse engineer or extract our content, knowledge base or software,
• resell, rent out or pass on your access to anyone else,
• use Cherpa to provide regulated advice to other people, or
• do anything that damages, overloads or interferes with the service or its security.
If you break these terms we may suspend or close your account.
7. Subscriptions, trials and payment
Cherpa offers a paid subscription, Cherpa Premium, with monthly and annual plans. Current prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
• Billing. Payment is taken through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Their payment terms also apply.
• Free trial. Where we offer a free trial, your paid subscription begins automatically when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. The trial length and start of billing are shown before you subscribe.
• Auto renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You will be charged the then current price for your plan.
8. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancel at least one day before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, as they take the payment. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer. Because Cherpa is a digital service that starts as soon as you subscribe, and you ask us to start it straight away, your right to change your mind may be limited once the service has begun.
9. Changes to the service and prices
We may add, change or remove features as Cherpa develops. If we change the subscription price, we will tell you in advance through the app store, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
10. Availability
We work hard to keep Cherpa running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may need to pause the service for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
11. Our content and intellectual property
Cherpa, including the app, the brand, the design, the knowledge base and the software behind it, belongs to Cherpa.AI Ltd. We give you a personal, limited, non transferable right to use Cherpa for your own use while you have an account. You may not copy, adapt, distribute or build on any part of it without our written permission.
12. Third party information and links
Cherpa draws on information from trusted third party sources, such as GOV.UK and other public bodies. We are not responsible for the content of those sources, or for any external websites Cherpa may point you to. Where Cherpa links you to an official source to act, youdeal with that organisation directly.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide Cherpa with reasonable care and skill. But as set out above, the information Cherpa gives is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete or right for your situation, and it is not regulated financial advice.
To the extent the law allows:
• we are not responsible for any loss you suffer because you relied on Cherpa’s answers without checking them, or for the decisions you make,
• we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, savings or opportunity, and
• where we are found responsible to you, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited or excluded under law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
14. If you reach Cherpa through a partner
If you use Cherpa through your employer or a financial institution, additional terms from that partner may also apply. Your information is kept separate from other organisations’ users and is not shared back with the partner in a way that identifies you, unless we have told you otherwise.
15. Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, misuse the service, or if we have to stop providing Cherpa. You can close your account at any time in the app.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Cherpa evolves. The latest version will always be on our website, with the version and date at the top. If we make an important change, we will let you know.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. You can bring a claim in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and we will only bring a claim against you there.
18. Complaints and contact
If something is wrong, please tell us first so we can put it right. Email hello@cherpa.ai and we will respond as quickly as we can.
Because Cherpa does not provide regulated financial advice, complaints about Cherpa are not dealt with by the Financial Ombudsman Service. If you have a complaint about your data, you can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.Cherpa does not give financial advice or product recommendations and is not FCA regulated.
